Father's Day BBQ in Summit County

There's no better way to celebrate Father's Day than with a massive BBQ, live music and some time outside. Check out the different events happening around the county to enjoy with your dad, your family and your friends.

Colorado BBQ Challenge 

This year is the 25th annual Colorado BBQ Challenge in Frisco. It's held from Thursday, June 14, to Saturday, June 16, kicking off on Thursday night with the concert from 8 to 9:30 p.m. On Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. enjoy some of the best BBQ in the nation and other delicious food from more than 70 BBQ chefs and local vendors. There will also be seven live bands. Volunteer at the BBQ Challenge for a free t-shirt and 10 Hogbacks (the official festival currency).

Bacon Burner 6K

Run off some of that BBQ from the weekend at the 3.8-mile out-and-back run on the Frisco rec trail. All racers will receive Bacon Burner apparel and a free beer ticket for the BBQ Challenge. The race will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Frisco Marina. Register online.

Locals Rock!

This Thursday, June 14, join Colorado Adventure Guides for a half-day of guided rock climbing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 2 to 6 p.m. The course is designed for novice rock climbers who live in Summit. Certified guides will teach the basics of top-rope climbing. The event costs $50 per person and is open to anyone ages 12 years or older. The event will benefit the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.

Copper Summer Concert Series

Sunday, June 17, is Copper Mountain’s first concert in the Summer Concert Series. At 1 p.m. come watch DJ Landry and Blood, Sweat and Tears try out their new band and contemporary voice.

Sunday Music

Every Sunday Sauce on the Blue in Silverthorne will feature local live music starting at 3 p.m.

Art & Mimosas

Start your Sunday with some creative energy and a refreshing mimosa from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Ready, Paint, Fire! (Keystone and Breckenridge locations.) The event cost is $15 per person.
