Christmas in the County

The most wonderful time of the year is here, and Summit County is making sure everyone has a merry time, no matter what holiday you celebrate. Music, food, drinks and snow are the perfect ingredients for making memories in the high country, and we have all of them and more in this week's events. 

Christmas Mixology

Learn how to make some special Christmas punches at Breckenridge Distillery’s Christmas Mixology Demonstration on Friday, December 22, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Participants will learn the history and stories surrounding the local spirits. Tickets cost $35 and include three cocktails. Purchase them online.

Outer Range Brewing Birthday

Happy one-year anniversary to Outer Range Brewing Co. Come celebrate on December 23 from 12 to 9 p.m. Enjoy live music by Truscelli, Jess Rose and the Broke Down Rodeo throughout the day. There will also be specialty cans released and merchandise raffles, and the Brewtography Project will be on site to capture the day’s events. Hoof Wing & Fin will provide free food for snacking.

Christmas Eve at the Mountain

Celebrate Christmas Eve at Arapahoe Basin from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mountain Goat Plaza. Saint Nick and one of his holiday elves will pass out candy, and the Summit County Choral Society will sing Christmas carols around the base area.

Don’t miss a Copper Mountain holiday tradition with a Torchlight Parade down Main Vein on Christmas Eve. Santa will be there to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and kids can enter the Glowstick Pageant. Check online for a full schedule.

Chocolate Village

Come see the Chocolate Village this week at Keystone Lodge and Spa in Lakeside Village. The alpine village is built with more than 7,000 pounds of chocolate. Keystone Resort’s Pastry Chef, Ned Archibald, created a waterfall, a 6-foot Christmas tree, presents and a working gondola, all from chocolate. The display is open 24 hours a day.

Barkley's Winter Music Scene

Barkley’s lineup for the winter is full of a variety of great music. Don’t miss Fluid this Friday (free), the Summit Family Band on Saturday (free) and Boombox on Wednesday, December 27 ($25 per person). The bands play everything from '70s funk, to jazz, bluegrass and more. Check the online schedule for more upcoming events and to purchase tickets.
