Breckenridge Closes for Winter, Earth Day and More in Summit County

By Samantha Blair | Tuesday, April 17, 2018

April snow showers bring May flowers (we hope). But crazy weather is nothing new in Summit County, and this week we are celebrating Mother Nature and our beautiful planet, no matter how unpredictable she may be. Make sure to catch some awesome local restaurant specials around town, too!

A-Basin Earth Day

Saturday, April 21, celebrate Earth Day with the Arapahoe Basin Green Team. Darn Tough and Clif Bar have partnered up with the Basin so the first several hundred cars with three or more people in them will get a free pair of Darn Tough Socks, Clif Bars and raffle tickets to the Après Party. Throughout the day there is a sustainability scavenger hunt with prizes, and the Gin Doctors will perform live music from 12 to 3 p.m. Local athlete Cody Cirillo will give a Climate Change talk at 2 p.m., and the raffle will be at 3 p.m. The Après Party will start at 3 p.m. in Mountain Goat Plaza and will have drink specials and prize giveaways. To participate in the scavenger hunt, you can register on site for $20 per team of two people plus $5 for each additional person. Proceeds will benefit Protect Our Winters.
