Easter Weekend in Summit County

April is upon us and so is Easter weekend. Whether or not you recognize this Christian holiday, you can participate in epic egg hunts and delicious brunches happening all over the county. This weekend is also the beginning of the USASA National Championships and other fun things to do.

Free Comedy

Thursday, March 29, at 10 p.m. is Free Comedy Night at Dillon Dam Brewery. Three Denver-based comedians will perform. It’s also Girls Night Out, so ladies can get free half-pints.

USASA National Championships

The USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain is the largest snowboard and free skiing event in the world. Starting Saturday, March 31, and running to April 11, more than 1,700 athletes from all around the nation will compete in the halfpipe, skiercross and boardercross, slopestyle and alpine events.

Easter Events


Sunday, April 1, at 12 p.m. is the Frisco Kids Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 8 and younger. 5,000 Easter eggs will be scattered through Frisco Historic Park and the Frisco Town Hall areas. The Easter bunny will be there to greet children and take pictures. Check online for age specific search locations.

Don’t miss an incredible Easter Sunday Brunch at Spencer’s Restaurant in Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center on Sunday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a chilled buffet including fruit, yogurt, cream cheese, smoked salmon, shrimp and more. There will also be a carving and pasta station, a hot buffet and a pastry and dessert station. Expect plenty of candy for the kids, too. Tickets cost $48 for ages 13 and older and $24 for kids ages 5 to 12. Call (970) 453-8755 for a reservation.

Come to the Eggquatic Egg Hunt at the Breckenridge Recreation Center pool. There will be games, crafts and prizes. Bring a swimsuit, towel and basket to collect pool eggs. Check online to see different egg hunt times.

Arapahoe Basin

Saturday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. is the Beach N’ Egg Hunt with 5,000 eggs at A-Basin. There will be skiing and non-skiing hunts for kids. Kids on skis will hunt on Wrangler at 11:30 a.m., and kids on foot will hunt on Molly Hogan at 10:30 a.m.


Sunday, April 1, is the World’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt at Copper Mountain. The hunts will start at 8:30 a.m. 65,000 eggs will be distributed across Copper Mountain, with different hunts for kids of all ages. Don’t miss the Rainbow Fish performance at 10 a.m. When you’re done with the hunt, turn your Easter eggs in to reuse in future hunts.

Eat a full spread at Easter breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at CB Grille. The Easter Bunny will come to each table to say hi. There will also be a coloring station and souvenir gift for each child. Tickets cost $29 per adult and $25 per child.
