Festival season is coming to a close. Summit County is finishing strong with various art festivals, music and more. Squeeze in one more epic athletic event and bring the kiddos down to the beach for some sandcastle building — all in this week in Summit!

Breckenridge International Festival of Arts

The Breckenridge International Festival of Arts is here! Starting on Friday, August 10, and running through August 19, the 10-day program will feature spectacular events in different spaces all across Breckenridge. Inspired by themes of mountain culture and the environment, the festival hosts film, dance, music and visual arts. Check the schedule here for a full line-up of events.

Guitar Town

This weekend, rock out at the 14th annual Guitar Town at Copper Mountain. From Friday, August 10, to Sunday, August 12, enjoy free acoustic and electric guitar performances and workshops. There will also be free guitar repairs and activities for the kids. Want the VIP experience? Buy a VIP ticket for private seating, priority at workshops, a commemorative poster and more.

Ragnar Relay

Also at Copper this weekend is the Ragnar Relay on Friday, August 10. Teams of six or 12 runners will trek from Copper to Aspen/Snowmass across 200 miles of high Rocky road. The overnight run will take competitors over single-track trails, back roads and stunning passes. Register here.

Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival

Frisco is hosting the 12th Annual Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., check out glass, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics and more from some of the nation’s best artists. The juried art fair will feature the best of the best for all tastes.

Kids’ Sandcastle Competition

Saturday, August 11, at the Frisco Bay Marina is the 8th Annual Sandcastle Competition. Register from 9 to 10 a.m. The competition will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. There are different age divisions, and awards will be given to first, second and third place. Each team will receive a free bucket and shovel. Register online.

National Bowling Day

This Saturday, August 11, is National Bowling Day! Lakeside Bowl in Dillon is celebrating National Bowling Day with half-priced bowling from 11 a.m. to midnight on August 11. Anyone dressed like the Big Lebowski will be entered to win a prize.
