It's Almost Valentine's Day in Summit County!

By Caitlin Row | Tuesday, February 7, 2017

It's Valentine's Day in this High County come Tuesday, Feb. 14. Whether you're going for a weekend activity, a V-Day dinner or a week-long vacation celebration, it's time to start planning.

Weather predictions point to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the high 30s on Valentine's Day proper. If you have the day off work, I suggest hitting the slope with your No. 1 Bae for romance and fun in the sun, grabbing a bottle of Champagne (check out Antlers Liquor & Wine Cellar in Frisco if you're in the area) and then enjoying a tasty, local dinner.

Here's a cross-section of dining options, activities and events from Summit This Week:

Go Out To Eat

It's time to make a reservation for Valentine's Day dinner. Here are suggestions by town:

Breckenridge restaurant suggestions include Relish, Ember, Hearthstone Restaurant, Twist Restaurant and Briar Rose Chophouse & Saloon.

Check out Frisco restaurants like The Boatyard, Begalis, Tavern West, Kemosabe, Silverheels Bar & Grill and Food Hedz World Cafe.

Ski Tip Lodge is located in Keystone.

Kick off the weekend before Valentine's Day right with fireworks at Keystone Resort on Saturday, Feb. 11. These fireworks happen every Saturday through the ski season ending in mid-April, so if this weekend doesn't work there are plenty more opportunities to come.

Events This Week

Evergreen Grass Band, a bluegrass band from Wisconsin, will perform Saturday, Feb. 11, at The Barkley Ballroom in Frisco. Women's Ski Week kicks off Saturday, Feb. 11, and it continues at Breckenridge Mountain Resort through Sunday, Feb. 19. Frisco Gold Rush, the longest-running Nordic event in Colorado, features classic and skate racing Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11-12.
