Labor Day Fun in Summit County

Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer and beginning of fall. The kids are heading back to school, the temperatures are dropping and the days are getting shorter. Transition times can be tough, but Summit has a fabulous lineup of festivals and live music to keep the summer vibes going for one last long weekend.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest season is here, and Keystone Resort is kicking things off this Saturday, September 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a huge River Run Merchant Tent Sale and a Das Bier Burner 5K benefiting SOS Outreach. The Summit Concert Band will start a day of free music at 1 p.m., followed by Those Austrian Guys. 2018 Steins are for sale for $35, which includes three 16 oz. New Belgium season craft beers and discounted refills. There will also be kids’ activities, so the whole family can come!

Gathering at the Great Divide

This weekend, Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3, is the 43rd annual Gathering at the Great Divide. It's held in Breckenridge on Main Street and Wellington Avenue. More than 100 artists will be displaying their finest art. Sunshine Artist’s top 200 Fine Art Festivals list the Gathering as the #13 best Fine Art Festival in the country!

Fall Fest Art Festival

Also this weekend, Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2, is the Fall Fest Art Festival in Dillon. The free three-day event will showcase 50 fine artists from around the nation. The festival is raising awareness and funds in the spirit of World Alzheimer's Month. Purchase donated pieces at a silent auction.

Copper Country

This weekend is Copper Country at Copper Mountain. The 2018 line-up includes The Mavericks, Umberto Fonte, The Long Players, Ricky Skaggs and more. General admission is free, but VIP tickets are for sale and include a commemorative poster and premier covered seating next to the Main Stage. There also will be kids’ crafts and an arts festival.

Coming Up

Uprooted

Don’t miss this month’s First Friday concert with Uprooted, featuring Michael Glabicki from Rusted Root. This will happen on Friday, September 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Rainbow Park.

Breckenridge Wine Classic

Breckenridge Wine Classic, a top-notch wine-and-dine opportunity, is planned for September 13 to 16. Taste more than 100 wines, beers, spirits, food and more. Whether you’re coming for the wine tastings and seminars or you just want to play outside and enjoy a beverage afterward, there’s something for everyone's taste and definition of fun.
