Preparing for the Holidays in Summit County

The holidays are right around the corner, and Summit County is helping us get in the spirit. Between films, food, celebrations, workshops and more, residents and visitors can get their mind, bodies and homes prepped and ready for the festive season.

International Exposition

Thursday, November 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., come to the Silverthorne Pavilion to experience Celebrations Around the World. Bring your families to learn about different cultures in our community. Volunteers from the local Canadian, European, Asian, Latino and African communities will host interactive booths to educate kids and adults about different languages, countries, currencies and customs.

Holistic Holiday Prep

Elevation Fitness and Ascent LifePlanning are coming together to bring you the Mind-Body Wellness Retreat on Saturday, November 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The one-day event will explore self-care through yoga, Zumba, nutrition and more. Gretchen Broecker, M.S., R.D. and Claudine Norden, M.A. will offer workshops and advice so you can feel grounded coming into this holiday season. Dress comfortably and bring a journal, water bottle and yoga mat.

Winter Film Series

Can’t wait to ski fresh powder? Come to Warren Station at Keystone on Saturday, November 18, from 5 to 10 p.m. to watch Habit by Level 1 Productions. The Get Stoked Winter Film Series can feed your winter anticipation with an epic film, swag giveaways, drink specials and raffles. Purchase tickets online

Healthy Holiday Cooking

Join Elevated Yoga & Holistic Health for their Healthy Holiday Cooking Class on Saturday, November 18, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Understand the nutrients in the foods you eat to make better decisions when it comes to eating during the holidays. The knowledge and the skills from this course will empower you to get through the holidays without gaining weight and to have a healthier lifestyle coming into the new year. Ski Racing at Copper Mountain

Friday, November 17, is USST NASTAR pacesetting and fan day. Watch this season’s pacesetting and meet the athletes. Then from November Sunday, November 19, to Tuesday, November 21, watch the USSA NorAm Speed Racing Series, where athletes come from all over to compete in a downhill skiing competition at Copper’s US Ski Team Speed Center.

Holiday Crafts and Creativity

Sunday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., come to either the Keystone or Breckenridge Ready, Paint, Fire! Studio for their Creative Holiday Fun Event. Sip on hot-spiced cider, wine or hot chocolate while creating holiday decorations like platters, mugs, pumpkins and more.

Thanksgiving Buffet

On vacation? Or just don’t feel like slaving over a Thanksgiving meal this year? Beaver Run is hosting a Thanksgiving buffet feast from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Colorado Ballroom. Check out the festive menu and buy your adult and children's tickets online. A house beverage is included with each ticket.
