Here at Summit This Week, we are loving that winter is back in the High Country after a brief foray into springtime weather. At the time of this writing, I'm bundled up in fleece and enjoying a hot cup of coffee.
A mix of snow fall, sunshine and clouds means locals and visitors alike should dress in layers and be prepared for every form of precipitation. It's always a surprise in the mountains!
Here are top picks for things to do this week:
Check out the Frisco Adventure Park for a creative day date. The man-made hill features 1,200-foot tubing lanes fun for kids and adults. Tubing reservations are a must, so plan ahead. Sleigh rides are also available from the park if a more traditionally romantic option is preferred.
Beer lovers may want to check out Outer Range Brewing Company in Frisco or Broken Compass Brewing Company located on the outskirts of Breckenridge. Both offer a mountain-town ambiance and cozy atmosphere.
For a dinner date check out one of Summit's many restaurants including Modis and Relish in Breck, Alpenglow Stube in Keystone (take the gondola up to the restaurant) and Silverheels Bar and Grill in Frisco.

The 2017 Susan G. Komen Snowshoe for the Cure Colorado is planned for Saturday, March 4. The event will be held at Frisco Nordic Center, and it kicks off bright and early at 8 a.m. This snowshoe experience is family friendly and gathers upwards of 1,500 people to have fun while raising funds for breast cancer research.
This year's fundraising goal is $40,000. At the time of this writing, a little more than $35,000 was raised.
A Little Stompers Dash, a 3k route and a 5k route are available on Saturday. Other perks of Snowshoe for the Cure include a goodie bag, fun prizes and a post-event party.

The Bubble Gum Ski Race Series is planned for the Frisco Adventure Park on Monday, March 6. This event (for kids and adults) is held for five Mondays spanning February and March. It's fun, non-competitive and races are free. Registration is from 4-5 p.m., then the event runs from 5-6 p.m.

Cirque, an online mountain outfitter based in the High Country, is offering 20 percent off two Colorado Cirque beanies (click here for more information). One is Colorado flag colors and the other showcases Breck Mountain.
I recently purchased the Cirque Plaid Reaper Hood, which fits over my ski helmet, and I'm in love. It keeps my cheeks and chin warm without bunching around my neck or getting sloppy with frozen spit. Plus, it's stylie.
This product gets my seal of approval, and you can get it in other colors if plaid isn't your thing. It does not work without a helmet under it, however.
