Enjoy Shoulder Season Fun in Summit This Week

September is the start of fall shoulder season in the county. While there may be fewer tourists, many locals are still out and about. Local businesses are celebrating the shoulder season by offering all kinds of events and discounts for Summit residents and visitors who are hanging around.

Breckenridge Film Festival

The 38th annual Breckenridge Film Festival is this weekend, from Thursday, September 20, to Sunday, September 23. There will be more than 70 independent films, forums and parties. See documentaries, comedies, dramas, incredible student films, storytelling and more. The film fest is an example of creativity, innovation and independent artistic expression. 10-Year Anniversary

Breckenridge Distillery is celebrating its 10-year anniversary on Saturday, September 22, from 2 to 9 p.m. Start the afternoon with a behind-the-scenes tour of the distillery’s phase two expansion. Then let experts guide you through a chocolate and spirits pairing. At 4 p.m., come to the anniversary Mixology Class, where Liquid Chef Billie Keithley will teach you the tricks to making delicious whiskey cocktails. Round off the night with a distillery history tour as well as a private tasting of their Single Malt Mash. There will be live music throughout the evening by local favorites Guerilla Fanfare, Frisco Funk Collective and Steepland String Band.

Falling Leaves Race

Run in the inaugural Breckenridge Falling Leaves 7K road race. Competitors will receive a race shirt and can run through the scenic Aspen Alley to enjoy the fall foliage. Register ahead of time for $25 or pay $40 the day of the race.

Saturday Night Social

Saturday, September 22, is Studio B’s Saturday Night Social. Come learn the basics of swing and smooth ballroom dancing and then enjoy an hour of open dance. The class costs $25 per person and $40 per couple.
