Check Out Copper Mountain Events, Super Bowl and More

By Caitlin Row | Thursday, January 26, 2017

Summit County is all sunshine and warmth right now with scattered snow showers predicted into the weekend and next week. It's the perfect time to explore one of the area's top-tier ski resorts like Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin or Keystone. Don't forget sunscreen and to dress in layers (so y'all can shed a few). Skiers and riders are sure to enjoy spring-like conditions in Colorado High Country!

Then head to the Town of Breckenridge to view snow sculptures on display (weather permitting) through Sunday, Feb. 5. The outside art is left over from the International Snow Sculpture Championships held last week.

Fun At Copper Mountain

There's lots going on at Copper Mountain this winter as far as events and activities. The USSA Noram Cup is going on through Feb. 11. A Moonlight Dine and Ski event is planned for Feb. 11 along with the WinterBike night bike event Feb. 18-19. The Vans Mountain Hi-Standard Series in March 4. Colorado Special Olympics Winter Games is March 5. Fast forward a bit and Subaru WinterFest returns March 18-19. Check out more Copper events at Summit This Week.

Watch The Super Bowl

New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons face off this Sunday, Feb. 5, in Houston at the Super Bowl. Places like Dillon Dam Brewery in Dillon, Ollie's Pub and Grub in Frisco, Kenosha Steakhouse in Breckenridge and Bakers' Brewery in Silverthorne offer TVs (that will no doubt feature the big game).

Those not into the idea of watching the Super Bowl (there may be a few) should consider Sunday afternoon as prime time to get some uninterrupted runs on one of Summit County's four mountains. Lift lines are sure to be shorter than normal.

The game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. mountain time on Fox.

Plan Your Week

Check out Funk Trek at The Barkley Ballroom in Frisco on Friday, Feb. 3; the 15th annual Beacon Bowl at Arapahoe Basin on Saturday, Feb. 4; and Bonfire Dub at The Barkley Ballroom Wednesday, Feb. 8. Silverheels Bar and Grill in Frisco is hosting live music from 6-9 p.m. this weekend. Find even more events at Summit This Week's daytime and nightlife calendar.
