Winter Activity is Ramping Up in Summit County

The ski resorts of Summit are open, and the landscape is covered in snow. Shoulder season is officially over, and activity in Summit is ramping up for the winter season. Enjoy the buzz and check out the different parties, music and celebrations this week.

Open Mic Night

Moose Jaw is hosting open mic night on Thursdays. Starting November 15, Dewey Paul Moffitt will host starting at 9:30 p.m.

New Hot Spot

Breckenridge’s newest food and music spot, Flight Club, will have live music by Alpine Pandalarium on Friday, November 16, at 8:30 p.m.

Opening Weekend at Copper

Copper Mountain opens this Friday, November 16, with top-to-bottom skiing and riding. The mountain is celebrating with a Welcome Home Party. There will be live music, giveaways, drink specials and more. Head over to the Barn Bash from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a free session, pro athlete meet and greet, tasty food, live DJ, snowboard movie and activities.

Ski Season Kickoff

Angry James is hosting a Ski Season Kickoff with a ski tuning and waxing session on Saturday, November 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. Enjoy beer, a wax and a tune for a special price.

Snow Dance

Red Gerard and Jules Marino will be taking over the snow while Gramatik puts on a live show for the Mountain Dew Snow Dance. This happens on Saturday, November 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Backcountry Skiing 101

Colorado Adventure Guides is hosting a Backcountry Skiing 101 clinic on Monday, November 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mountain Outfitters Breck. Learn the basics of equipment and safety and the ins and outs of backcountry skiing from professional ski guides.

Ski Ball

Team Summit is hosting its 38th Annual Ski Ball on Saturday, December 1, at 6 p.m. at the Keystone Conference Center. The event will feature dueling pianos, cocktails and dinner. Ticket proceeds benefit Team Summit.  

Best Après in the Country

Gold Pan Saloon is currently ranked third in USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Best Après-Ski Bar in the nation. VOTE HERE to make it number one. The local hotspot was built in 1879 and has been the drinking hole of choice for decades. Make sure the Saloon gets the attention it deserves!
