A Week of Celebrations in Summit County

It's time to celebrate the vibrant and growing culture of our high mountain community. Whether you're interested in the arts, food, drinks, athletics or academia, there is a full range of celebratory events, performances and competitions to show all that Summit County has to offer.

Billy Elliot

Breckenridge Backstage Theater presents Billy Elliot from August 25 to September 3 at the Riverwalk Center. Treat yourself to a night at the theater and enjoy the story of a young boy and his struggle to be himself amidst a miners’ strike in an 1894 Northern English mining town. Cider Circus

The Cider Circus is at Copper on Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26. On Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., enjoy the Special Reserve Sampling and taste five incredible cider and cheese pairings. Then gear up for Saturday, when guests can sample craft ciders and brews among the performances of jugglers, mimes, clowns and acrobats. The Corporation Band will perform live music throughout the event. Tickets are available online along with a full schedule.

Ragnar Relay

Friday, August 25 is the Ragnar Relay, a relay race  from Copper to Aspen/Snowmass for teams of six and 12 people. The 200-mile run is one of the hardest in the Ragnar series and is an overnight run through single-track trails and backwoods roads. Each team member will have the chance to run three times, with each leg varying in length and difficulty. Registration and details are available online.

CMC 50th Celebration

Colorado Mountain College is turning 50, and they want you to come celebrate. From 10 a.m. to 7p.m. on Friday, August 25, both the Breckenridge and Dillon campuses will host a range of activities. Don’t miss birthday cake, campus tours and presentations on apprentice-based culinary programs and how the college has grown. Check out the website for a full schedule.

10th Mountain Division Story

Join Colonel Tom Duhs USMC (retired) on August 25 in the Frisco Lodge as he shares the story of the 10th Mountain Division, the only U.S. Army Mountain Division. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., he will tell fascinating stories of the ski troops.

Canvas Uncorked

Ready, Paint, Fire! is coming to the Warren Station for a night of acrylic painting and drinks on August 25 at 6:30 p.m. Follow step-by-step pointers with instructors as you enjoy a casual painting party with a boozy twist. Tickets come with a complimentary glass of house wine or beer, a canvas, paint and supplies. Cocktail specials and bottles of wine are available for purchase.

Chalk Art & Chocolate

On Saturday, August 26, head to River Run Village Plaza at Keystone from 11 to 2 p.m. for a free afternoon of entertainment. America’s Got Talent: Top Hogs live entertainer will be there along with two pro chalk artists drawing 3-D art in the village. Kids can enjoy face painting, balloon artists, a DJ and games. Check online for the full schedule.

Spartan Race

Breckenridge is hosting a Spartan Race on August 26 and 27 at Beaver Run Resort. Climb, crawl, sprint and jump as you race through one of the most difficult obstacle courses in the country, all while enjoying views of the Continental Divide and stunning mountain summits. At 9,600 feet the race is the highest Spartan course in the world and draws many Spartan Pro team members. Registration and event details are available online.

Breckenridge Hogfest

Breckenridge Bacon and Bourbon is finally here! This Saturday, August 26, at Mainstreet Station, enjoy bourbonology, brown spirits, pork samples, single malt scotches and bacon while jamming out to live music from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets are available for the Bacon and Bourbon Pairing Dinner at Sauce on the Maggie at The Village on Friday, August 25, and for the Hogfest tasting on Saturday. Get the star experience with VIP tickets. Ticket sales will benefit the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary Club.

Model Boat Regatta

The Colorado Crew Scale Model Boat Club is hosting a regatta on Keystone Lake at Lakeside Village on Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 30 scale ship models will be on display with skippers available to answer any questions and provide advice to ship modelers. There will be an on-water demo and regatta to give the public a chance to navigate the ships.

Pho Real Meal Deals

This week, August 23 to 30, Pho Real is celebrating its one-year anniversary with Customer Appreciation Week. Don't miss deals on Boba Tea, Pho, beer, wine, Banh mi, vermicelli bowls and more. Saturday, August 26, is double-stamp-reward day, and on Monday, August 28, kids ages 12 and younger eat free. Make sure to stop in this week to catch yummy food and sweet deals every day.
