Finishing February with Athletic and Benefit Events

February may be short on days but it's full of events. Round out the month celebrating incredible athletes and attending benefit dinners and fundraisers to give back to the community.

HC3 Benefit 

Come to the 29th annual Tim McClure Benefit on Friday, February 23, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Double Tree Breckenridge. The High Country Conservation Center fundraiser will feature live music, EveryBelly dancers, a silent auction and a tasting with unlimited local beer, wine and spirits. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. VIP tickets cost $60 and include a pint glass and early access to the silent auction. Visit the website for more information and to purchase tickets.

Fire Hose Relay Race

On Friday, February 23, the 12th annual Fire Hose Relay Race will be held on High Noon at A-Basin from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fire departments from across Colorado participate in a giant slalom-style event, in which teams of five firefighters run a 15-gate course while holding a 50-foot fire hose. The event is a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Come cheer them on either from the trail or the A-Frame deck.

The Catcalls

The Catcalls are playing Saturday, February 24, at the Base Nine Bar from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, February 25, at Coppertop Bar from 2 to 5 p.m. The Catcalls are an acoustic/electric duo that play a mix of blues, rock and soul.

Special Olympics

This weekend (February 24 and 25) it's time for the Special Olympics at Copper Mountain. Come watch Colorado-based winter Special Olympics athletes compete in alpine skiing, crosscountry skiing, snowshoeing and snowboarding. There will be a torchlight parade and fireworks at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

Apres Flow Yoga

Bhava Yoga is a new yoga studio in the county, located in South Main Street Station in Breckenridge. The convenient location allows for yoga before or after any winter adventure. Check out the Apres Flow class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. The all-level classes help increase mobility and stability. Guests also get half off an after-class glass of wine at the Continental Divide Winery next door.
