Winding Down the Season in Summit

The resorts are closing in Summit and things are slowing down. Enjoy another full week of parties, pond skims and competitions before mud season.

USASA National Championships

This (April 14 and 15) is the last weekend for the USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain. As the largest snowboard and free skiing event in the world, more than 1,700 athletes from all around the nation compete in the halfpipe, skiercross and boardercross, slopestyle and alpine events.

Broke Down Rodeo End of Season Party

Local band Broke Down Rodeo is playing live music at The Bakers' Brewery End of Season party on Saturday, April 14, at 8 p.m. The band plays classic rock and blues covers as well as originals. The event is free.

Closing Weekend at Copper

This weekend is the last weekend at Copper Mountain, and they’re celebrating in style. The Sunsation event on April 14 and 15 will feature live music by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and MarchFourth. There will be a 10 Barrel Gelande Quaffing Tournament, and Red Bull will be hosting their annual Slopesoakers pondskim.

MakeShift: Distilling 101

On Wednesday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Distiller Hans Stafsholt will teach a lesson on sampling from individual barrels to create the perfect bourbon whiskey blend. Then there will be an in-depth tour of Breckenridge Distillery and the equipment used in the process. There is a $40 bourbon fee.
