Festival Season Begins in Summit

Festival season is kicking off in Summit County. Catch amazing local events, niche festivals and weekly yoga opportunities this week.

Concert in the Park

Thursday, June 21, is the first Concert in the Park of the 2018 summer season at Frisco Historic Park. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. come sing and dance to Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal, an award-winning five-piece soul/funk/R&B band. All liquor sales will benefit Timberline Adult Day Services.

Fly-Fishing Clinic

Friday, June 22, at Frisco Historic Park, Trouts Frisco is hosting a free fly-fishing casting clinic at 5 p.m. Space is limited, so call (970) 668-2538 or email Brain Hume to reserve your spot and learn more.  

Festivals in Summit County

Big Beers and Film

This weekend, June 23 and 24, Copper Mountain is hosting the 2nd annual Copper Mountain Film Festival and the Attack of the Big Beers. Brewers will compete for the Brewzilla Cup — the award for the biggest, baddest beer of the festival, while visitors can taste an array of big beers from all over the country. 10 Barrel Brewing Co. presents two free nights of short and feature films, guest speakers, Q&As with filmmakers and a Screenwriting Contest at the High Rockies Whiskey & Wine Bar. Bacon and Bourbon Festival

This weekend, June 23 and 24, is also the 8th annual Bacon and Bourbon Festival at Keystone. Rock out to free live music as you enjoy samples from thousands of pounds of bacon and bacon-inspired cuisine. Don’t miss the Jim Bean Bourbon Tour to compliment your piggy delicacies. Buy tickets online.

Yoga in Summit County

Yoga in the Park

Every Friday come enjoy Yoga in the Park at the Dillon Farmers Market at 9 a.m. No yoga experience is necessary, and drop-ins are welcome. Cost is $10 per person.

Stretch and Sip Yoga

The second and fourth Sunday of every month this summer is Stretch and Sip Yoga on the Breckenridge Distillery patio. On Sunday, June 24, Meta Yoga will be teaching a class from 9 to 10 a.m. Afterwards, enjoy a complimentary boozy juice or Bloody Mary and 15% off lunch on the patio. Register online.

Coming Up

Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, is the first annual Silverthorne Fine Art Festival. Come to North Pond Park to see 80 fine artisans in 13 categories from across the nation and the world. Admission is free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
