Happy November! 'Tis the season for giving, and Summit is reminding us of everything we have to be thankful for. Enjoy local music, early season discounts, community get-togethers and give-back events. It's time to embrace the chilly weather and welcome the holiday spirit.

Candy and Pumpkin Give Back

From November 1 to 6, donate extra candy to Operation Gratitude, an organization that supports veterans and active military members. You can drop off your candy at Stork & Bear Co., Frisco/Copper Info Center, the Peak School and Summit County Preschool. Participants are encouraged to write thank you notes and letters of support to send with their treats. The Frisco/Copper Info Center and Stork and Bear Co. will give small gifts to any children who donate.

Until November 14 you can bring your pumpkins to the Frisco and Breckenridge Recycling Centers to compost your pumpkin for free. HC3 has set up bins, so your pumpkins can be turned into rich soil for the next growing season.
