Event Description: 

Fire is part of our environment and we all are exposed to some risk, no matter where we live. Please come up to Steamboat Springs to join local and regional experts at the Routt County Wildfire Mitigation Conference to better understand wildfire risks and the steps we can all take to mitigate them. Dan Gibbs, director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, will give a keynote address on statewide collaborations for wildfire mitigation. His talk will be followed by panel discussions on leveraging resources to address risk and develop fire-adapted communities. The afternoon will include breakout sessions targeting defensible space, wildfire and agriculture, and preparing for an evacuation.
